We appreciate your continued support.
We would like to inform you about changes to the maintenance scheme for shipboard PCs under the N-OASYS service.
Shipboard PCs are subjected to stresses such as humidity and vibration, leading to a shorter lifespan compared to land-based PCs.
Our previous maintenance scheme recommended periodic maintenance approximately every three years (including HDD replacement, memory upgrades, and OS reconfiguration) to extend the lifespan of the PCs.
However, as PC components have become more specialized and complex, it has become increasingly difficult to extend their lifespan through such maintenance.
Therefore, starting in 2018, we will abolish the periodic maintenance scheme and instead adopt a system where we provide recommended replacement periods based on regular checks.
At the beginning of each year, we will send a PC list to each company, which will include:
・Initial installation date
・Recommended replacement date
・Last status check date
This list is intended to serve as a guideline for PC replacement.
Please note that this list is only a recommendation and should be used as a reference for your own decision-making regarding replacement timing.
We plan to provide the new PC lists starting in January 2018.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
