日本国籍船におけるStarlink Maritimeの領海外利用に関して

Starlink Maritime for use outside the territorial waters on Japanese nationality vessels

On February 9, 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) revised the examination criteria related to the Radio Law.

Previously, Japanese vessels were restricted from using Starlink Maritime outside their territorial waters, this amendment changes the criteria.

Accordingly, an amendment to the license to use Starlink Maritime was applied on February 14, allowing Japanese vessels to use Starlink Maritime’s services outside of their territories.

This amendment will significantly improve communications for Japanese national ocean-going and domestic vessels of Japanese nationality.

2024年2月9日、総務省が電波法関係審査基準を改正しました。

従来は日本国籍船舶はStarlink Maritimeの領海外利用が制限されておりましたが、
この改正により基準が変更されます。

これに伴い、2月14日Starlink Maritimeの免許の変更申請が行われ、

日本国籍船舶におけるStarlink Maritimeの領海外利用が可能となりました。
